Soo I felt like doing this because A.) I love makeup and B.) I love some makeup more than others.
I am not a makeup snob. I will try cheap makeup, expensive makeup, whatever makeup that tickles my fancy. Okay now that I wrote that out how the hell does that make sense? Tickle my fancy? I just googled it and it is really a phrase. Wow. Anyways moving on, I define makeup as a staple if I use it 90% of the time in my makeup routine. These are the things that I’ve already bought over, and over, and over, and intend on continuing to buy. Like during VIB sales or whatever I will stock up. Now I do try new things, mascara for instance—I probably own easily 20 different mascaras but there’s only one I use regularly. Anyways, let jump into it!!
#1 Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Pore Minimizing
Staple would be an understatement. I use this primer on days I DON’T wear makeup. I have extremely oily skin and this is the ONLY thing I’ve tried (and I’ve tried A LOT of things) that keeps my oil at bay and makes my nose look good. Don’t let the price scare you away, a little goes a long way. I’ve been using it for about 2 years and I’m only my 4th one.

#2 Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
This probably comes as no surprise as this has a true cult following. I own many, many mascara’s and not 1 (from Dior to Nyx) compares with this one. The coverage is amazing, I typically only need 1 coat and it lengthens and adds crazy volume. Enuff’ said.
#3 Marc Jacobs Remedy Concealer Pen
I had my first “makeover” at Sephora for Valentine’s Day 2015. This makeover is what turned me into the makeup junkie I am today. Out of all of the products used on my face during that makeover I bought literally around $300 worth of makeup. (Yep they got me) Out of all of that this is the ONLY product I still purchase and use today. I get this product in “Bright Idea” and it works miracles under my eyes. I have received so many compliments and I literally don’t know what I would do without it. This is another product I use on my no makeup days.

#4 Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
I started wearing makeup when I was in 8th grade. Back then wearing makeup meant wearing eyeliner. That’s all that was required. I used to spend a crazy amount of time making sure my lines were straight, my wing looked good, and my color was bold. These Kat Von D liners are crazy amazing. They are bold, they stay on, they are easy to use and they don’t dry out! They are by far my favorite liners in the liquid/felt tip world.

#5 City Color Cosmetics Matte Bronzer
This is definitely the least expensive of my staples and lasts FOREVER. I buy this in “espresso” which I believe is the darkest shade. I’ve had my current one for 2 years and I just bought a new one even though I still have plenty more use out of my original. When I decided to venture into bronzer you wouldn’t believe how difficult it was to find a MATTE bronzer! I already have oily skin and I didn’t want to look like a unicorn shart on my face. I googled matte bronzer and this came up. I’d used the shadow and highlight mousse from this brand and loved it so I figured I’d give it a try. Loved it. Use it every time I put my face on.

FINALLY. Sephora Pro Full Coverage Airbrush
So this isn’t makeup per se’ but it is so amazing it is worth mentioning for sure. Now you may have noticed that I didn’t name a foundation on here. That’s because my weird ass color skin and texture and I have YET to find a foundation I love, but this brush makes it so the foundations I do use are as flawless as they can be.
